I
At last the breath of spring imbues my world With softly scented air and vibrant greens, And drifting maple wings that gently twirled, Their twirling stopped when damped ground intervenes. My back against the tree, I feel the sun, Its lulling warmth makes drowsy eyelids close. And as I drift into oblivion, I sense a peace that only spring bestows. But dreams that come when outdoor air surrounds, Are somehow soothing to a troubled soul. At winter’s end when springtime’s hope abounds, A spirit, crushed, is magic’ly made whole. A springtime slumber ‘neath a leafy tree, Engulfed in peace that I could not forsee. |
